Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical-Control And Instrumentation) - [SKEI]
Introduction
Control and Instrumentation Engineering are a combination of two important disciplines, Control Engineering and Instrumentation Engineering.
Control Engineering is a wide discipline that involves methods to be implemented to produce products with required specifications. It covers the field of electrical engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Mechanical and communications. The application of Control Engineering includes industries related to manufacturing, factories, automotive, agriculture, transportation, telecommunications and others.
Instrumentation Engineering is a field that discusses the characteristic of equipment which focused on the production of the equipment with specific specifications. Various sectors such as factories, medical, communications, agriculture, transportation, power distribution and petroleum need equipment with different specifications for different applications.
Nowadays, Control and Instrumentation, as a combination or individually, has been widely benefited especially in the country with emphasis in manufacturing and industries. The necessity to produce modern and sophisticated instrument leads to the research and education in the field of Control and Instrumentation Engineering.
Therefore, this program has been designed to produce professionals with a solid background in design, modification and process operation in the field of Control and Instrumentation Engineering. The curriculum consists of core Electrical Engineering courses and specialized Control and Instrumentation courses, related general education and supporting non-technical courses. Furthermore, the students’ exposure to engineering practice is integrated throughout the curriculum through the combinations of industrial training and invited lectures from the industries.
